The Director of Technology is charged with developing and implementing a strategic vision in all areas of technology in support of the Addison Northwest School Districts instructional and operational goals. The Director of Technology effectively engages with administrators, educators, and tech support specialists to effectively manage the day-to-day information technology operations and to ensure that the technology program and services meet educational needs to drive student achievement. The Director of Technology is responsible for technology-related research and development to support the goals of the district. The Director must be highly collaborative and work to facilitate the process of priority-setting and decision-making for meaningful, effective use of technology in support of the organization's strategic instructional goals. The Director plans and coordinates ongoing and purposeful professional development and training so that end-users are truly empowered, and resilient, and may fully leverage the districts technology and systems. The Director manages the creation and implementation of policies and procedures relating to the social, legal, and ethical issues involving technology use across the organization and models responsible decision-making. Oversees the budget and serves as a strong business leader who guides purchasing decisions, and fosters mutually-beneficial relationships with vendors, potential funders, and other key groups. Implements practices and systems to ensure the security and privacy of organizational data.The Director manages the districts technology department. Guides supports, mentors, monitors, and evaluates the technology team to ensure that each member emerges as a strong leader and creates an environment of shared knowledge and purpose among the technology team. The Director must clearly define the mission of the technology department to ensure all members are unified toward a common goal.

- Manages the day-to-day operations of the IT Department including staffing, database administration, network operations, telecommunications, applications, PC/desktop support, customer service, and directing the work of IT staff.
- Identify, develop, and execute visions and strategies for use of technology in the District.
- Oversees District cybersecurity and training.
- Develop and maintain District Incident Response plan and disaster recovery plan.
- Coordinates the purchasing, placement, licensing, repair and inventory of all technologicalequipment, including hardware, PC software, telephone, and service contracts.
- Supports the management of existing applications including Google Apps for Edu, Tyler Technology Accounting, PowerSchool, and other instructional applications.
- Ensures the District submission for E-Rate funding is complete, accurate, and on time.
- Manages security systems and video surveillance systems.
- Develops and manages the district budget for technology by coordinating with business managerand leveraging E-rate and grant funds.
- Research and analyzes modern technologies, conducts competitive analyses, and makes a recommendation to the leadership.
- Collaborates with administration in the develop of the technology plan and introduce emerging technologies within the School District where appropriate.
- Meets with administrators, teachers, and staff to access and define technology needs, effectiveness, and resources.
